We received the sad news that swede and two-time Motocross World Champion Bengt Aberg has passed away.
Aberg, like his fellow driver Arne Kring, grew up in the vicinity of Hälsingland (S).
Aberg peaked in the late 1960s and early 1970s and achieved his greatest successes with the Swedish brand Husqvarna. As a factory driver of Husqvarna, Aberg became World Champion in the 500cc class in the year 1969 and 1970.
In the year 1971, Aberg could not provide sufficient resistance to the Combination De Coster/Suzuki, suffered injuries and did not get more than a fifth place in the final standings for the World Championship 500cc.
In 1972 Aberg achieved a general fourth place during the Motocross der Aces in Sint Anthonis (NL).

Aberg has struggled with several diseases in recent years, including diabetes and limited field of vision, which has weakened considerably and has also come out in public little.
Bengt Aberg turned 76.
