Interview former World Champion Motocross Harry Everts

During the Everts & Friends event in 2013, we were in the opportunity to interview the Belgian Harry Everts. Harry Everts rode his first ever International foreign race in 1970 during the Motocross of Aces in St. Anthonis. In those days, Harry Everts was guided by his uncle Jef Teuwissen, who won the Motocross of Aces in 1971. Harry Everts developed himself as an allround Motocrosser and earned his first World Champion Motocross title in the 250cc class on the Austrian Puch. In 1976 Harry Everts represented the Belgian team during the Motocross des Nations in St. Anthonis. Together with the other Masters Roger De Coster, Gaston Rahier and Jaak Vanvelthoven, they catched the victory in a very exciting race before the Dutch and German team.

In 1979 Everts got a lucrative offer to ride directly for Suzuki in the World Championship Motocross 125cc. In this class Everts became World Champion in 1979, 1980 and 1981.

Harry Everts also started in St. Anthonis during the Grand Prix 500cc on the 21th of August 1983. On his beautiful watercooled 500cc factory Suzuki bike, Harry Everts was quickly eliminated in the famous first corner after the start. Harry Everts crashed very hard and broke his both collarbones simultaneously.

Harry Everts' son Stefan Everts followed him very worthy by earning ten World titles in the Motocross.

Harry Everts' grandson Liam is currently steamed to follow in the foodsteps of his father and grandfather.

Despite Harry Everts crash in 1983, he retained very good memories to St. Anthonis on the famous circuit de Hoef.

The Motocross of Aces was a conception in the Motocross, as Harry says.

Harry Everts has entrusted us to attend the reunion Motocross of Aces on the 20th and 21th of September 2014.

Four times World Champion Motocross will be present during

the Reunion Motocross of Aces in St. Anthonis.
